Key 14: Set you mind

It is impossible to keep the Lord’s commandment (to love and forgive freely) by approaching the command as if it is a law He wants to punish you for breaking.  Your capacity (to love and forgive freely) can only come from the depths of your heart… (see CCC 2842)

Therefore, since we are justified by faith [believing in God’s Goodness], we have peace with God…

[then] God’s love [can] be poured into your heart through the Holy Spirit who has been given to you… by faith (Romans 5:1, 5)

Only the Spirit by whom we live can make ours the same mind that was in Christ Jesus.  Then the unity of forgiveness becomes possible and we find ourselves forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave you. (CCC 2842/ Ephesians 4:32)
